The movie, One Day, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess was a really touching yet shocking film that tackles the fight for true love and true friendship. It shows how enduring real romance can be and how it can keep the people involved going in life despite the difficulties they face.
Anne is playing the role of Emma, a writer who fell in love with a college friend, Dexter ( portrayed by JimSturgess), a tv host who ended up doing working in a buddy's restaurant after his career slowed down.
The chemistry between the two actors were undeniably compatible. Their acting was commendable for as they grow in years, their emotions also matured, giving justice to the scenes needing more drama.
The cinematography was admirable. I loved how it magnificently captured wide shots of the pool, the beach, and the scenery of buildings and houses from various angles.
The make-up was incredibly and intricately applied to the actors as they aged every year. As I had noticed, the faces of the young couple were really very youthful after their college graduation compared to their look when they were already going to thirties. I really liked the music too. It was classy and appropriate.
However though, there were some dull moments in the story in which the lines of the actors in a scene were too long that it gets dragging. Some scenes were not for the impatient who wanted transition of events to turn out quickly.
The ending was a shocker though. I didn't expect it. Over-all, this is a very lovable film that wonderfully narrates the adventures of love not fully expressed through words but in action. Many people, like the characters, are hesitant to express what they truly feel toward each other (such as the feeling of love) that they miss out on the magical events that doing otherwise can create.
One Day is directed by Lone Scherfig and is a movie version of the book of David Nicholls who wrote the screenplay of the film as well.

Their story started when the two slept together one night after their college graduation. Since then, they agreed to meet each other every 15th day of July to see their progress in their individual lives.
